The largest catalogue in China, measured in tens of thousands of series. This is where the big action and fantasy names live, including a lot of the cultivation and xianxia epics that get donghua adaptations. Free chapters plus paid, same as Kuaikan.

3. Bilibili Manhua (manga.bilibili.com)

Bilibili’s Chinese-language comic platform, and the full library behind what used to be their English service. Clean reader with a big catalogue that stays current on new releases. Some titles need a Chinese phone number to unlock, but plenty don’t.

4. Manke Zhan (mkzhan.com)

The online platform of Zhiyin Manke, the publisher behind one of China’s best-selling comic magazines. Smaller than the giants but strong in action and fantasy serials, with the same free-chapters-plus-paid-unlocks model.

5. Manhuagui

An aggregator rather than a publisher. Useful for older or obscure titles that have dropped off the main platforms, but treat it as a last resort, not a first stop. What happened to reading manhua in English?

Here’s the uncomfortable part. The legal English options got smaller, not bigger.

Bilibili Comics, which used to be the biggest licensed manhua platform in English, shut down its international app and website in February 2024. The titles it had translated went offline with it.
